To Kill a Mockingbird

Today is the 50th anniversary of the publication of one of the greatest books ever written. I love to read, I read all the time, and this is one of my favorite books. I try to read it again every year and am filled with glee at the thought of discussing it with my nephew when he reads it this year. Run out and buy a copy if you don't have one! (I'm buying a new copy today since mine has disappeared)

I leave you with my favorite quote from the book:

"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do." ~Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird, Chapter 11, Spoken by Atticus

  1. I can't believe that I majored in English literature and I haven't read this book! I'll be sure to read it soon.
