Long time, no talk!

It's Friday! What is a better day to dust off the ol' blog and put my thoughts down after a long silence?! It's been busy lately and things aren't going to settle down until after May so I'm gearing up for even more busy-ness! Etsy has been slow lately, but we're in the midst of rebranding and website launching and more jewelry making so I'm not too bothered by the slowness. The photography has it's spurts of busy and slow, but again, I'm not minding too much. The house is finally under contract again and I'm ridiculously excited about that. All the packing isn't exciting but I just crank some music and get to it. My car decided to act up so it's been a lot to get it running smoothly again, ugh.

Things are great with M, we love Summer so we're excited to make fun plans and to celebrate three years together in June. We aren't thinking too much about wedding plans, other than to throw out ideas every now and then. We're extremely casual about it and I think it's one of those things that we'll decide last minute and throw it all together. At least that's what I hope!

Anyway, this is what I'm most grateful for these days:


* Friday night high school baseball games
* playing with my nephews & nieces
* cuddling my tiny nephew, he's almost 4 months old!
* movie nights with lots of junk food with M
* library trips
* cool nights and warm days, not too burning hot here yet, thankfully
* fun photo shoots
* making peace with the past
* planting flowers


I vowed to make this year a year of growth and expansion. It's really comforting to my soul to see the wheels I set into motion actually turning and making progress. I'm anxious to see just how far we'll progress this year!

Random Updates

Random #1: Wow, November already! How did that happen? I swear it was barely July yesterday and I was still drinking lots of margaritas in the pool. It's like I blinked and it's already the end of the year. On one hand, I'm really happy because it means we're that much closer to us cycling but on the other hand, I'm really scared because it means we're that much closer to cycling. It's such a mix of emotions and I'm happy to not think too much about it all. It's better for my sanity that way!

Random #2: We've been super busy around here. C is really busy at work and I'm spending a good amount of time with friends and house stuff. Halloween weekend was fabulous, complete with a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and some margaritas. C had to work but I handed out candy to some very adorable kids and *almost* stole a barely walking Frankenstein from his parents, if only they weren't my neighbors..lol!

Random #3: We're installing laminate flooring this week, after scoring a great deal, and I'm getting my impacted wisdom teeth removed tomorrow, yay. I've bought a ton of magazines and have some good movies to watch while I recover. I can't wait to milk it for all I can while C is taking care of me..bwahahaha!!

Random #4: I'm hosting a baby shower next week, pray I don't stab someone by the end of it. I also have a couple of kid birthday parties and some girls nights out planned so it'll be a nice mix of fun and alcohol to get me through it all.

Random #5: 16 more days until the next Harry Potter movie comes out, I am out-of-my-freaking-mind excited and have already bought my midnight showing tickets. SQUEE!!!!

Random #6: Working on some good blog posts so I'll be back soon with an angst filled post about IF doom and gloom. These Christmas commercials with cute kids are KILLING me.

Insomnia

C's job is super busy lately and he's been working a lot. Which is a good thing but it's also bad b/c his job involves him staying out on his locations 24 hours for days on end. He's been doing this for 4 years but I'm still not used to sleeping alone at night, it's just a tad creepy. I usually end up not being able to sleep unless I am exhausted, which is clearly not the case tonight. It's 3:51am and I am wide awake. Ugh. I've watched the entire Season 9 of Friends on DVD and read Diablo Cody's book, Candy Girl and fyi, it's a kickass book. I've even ran 2 loads of laundry and reorganized my dresser. I'm tempted to start in our closets now.

Nothing new on the IF front, just truckin' along until the ball really starts rolling. I'm trying to convince C we need to take a vacation before all the craziness begins and I think I have almost talked him into it. I'm finding good deals and am currently looking at Orlando, Vegas, San Francisco and Oahu. Oahu being a far stretch but if I can find the right deal, it's on! lol

I guess I'm just ready for a change of scenery. I am tired of all this winter weather and can't wait for the leaves to grow back on the trees and to plant our garden. Doesn't a nice, warm breeze sound so good? Spring can't get here fast enough!
