Bittersweet

It didn't go exactly as planned. Apparently C is missing parts of his Y Chromosome, which is contributing to his issues with sperm production. He also has a varicocele and we are scheduled for surgery at the end of January, the day before my birthday actually. Dr. L tells us we are young and have time, that it may take up to a year for the surgery's results to be evident. A year. Another child-less, pregnancy-less year. I cried and C got angry and Dr. L said if the surgery is a success, we may conceive on our own. A very bittersweet appointment indeed.

We're trying to look on the bright side but it's hard. It just wasn't what we expected to hear.

  1. Well..those are some crap answers. Hoping you can hold on to the hope and idea of conceiving on your own when all of this is done.
These appointments are always so devastating and emotional. Thinking of you.

  2. Oh No! That just sucks. Boy can I relate to the news of having to wait, wait and WAIT until you can even expect to really be trying. Personally I think MFI sucks big time! Good luck with the op, here's to it being a HUGE success with a miracle recovery time so you guys can make babies the old fashioned way!

  3. I'm so sorry! The IF journey is filled with waiting. Waiting, anticipation, disappointment and more waiting. It sucks.
